"Fake News" Q&A

"Fake News" Q&A In-Person

We've all heard the term "fake news", but what does it really mean? And how do you know if the information you're seeing is trustworthy?  Jason Ertz, Professor and Librarian at College of DuPage Library, will cover the benefits of seeking differing viewpoints, how to evaluate sources and information, and how to understand context. We will learn the many different types of "fake news": misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation. When we understand these differences, we can more easily find information that we can be confident in. After a 30-minute presentation, there will be a Q&A session. You are welcome to submit questions ahead of time to cstream@cslibrary.org or ask them during the event.
